M&E officer

Youth Awake for Better Society is a Community Based Organization promoting human and health right in Nigeria, currently seek application from suitably qualified persons for the position of M&E Officer under Global Fund (GF) GC7 N ? THRIP PROJECT, which has NEPWHAN as its principal recipient (PR), and Youth Awake for Better Society (YABS) as the community based Organization in Imo State. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements listed below and should be willing and committed to promote the rights and health of the key population in Nigeria.

The Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) M&E Officer will support the design, implementation, and coordination of community-driven monitoring systems to track project performance, service delivery, and community feedback. The role ensures that community members actively participate in monitoring project activities, identifying gaps, and contributing to evidence-based decision-making for improved project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and Implementation of Community-Led Monitoring Systems

? Develop and implement CLM frameworks, tools, and indicators aligned with project M&E plans.

? Facilitate participatory monitoring approaches, including community scorecards, feedback mechanisms, and social accountability tools.

? Support communities to define indicators, monitoring questions, and data collection processes.

2. Community Engagement and Capacity Building

? Train community monitors, volunteers, and local structures (e.g., committees, CSOs, youth and women groups) on CLM tools and methodologies.

? Strengthen community capacity to collect, analyze, and use data for advocacy and local decision-making.

? Promote inclusion of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups in monitoring processes.

3. Data Collection, Quality Assurance, and Analysis

? Supervise community data collection using digital or paper-based tools.

? Ensure data quality through routine verification, spot checks, and validation exercises.

? Analyze CLM data and produce reports highlighting community perceptions, service gaps, and recommendations.

4. Reporting and Learning

? Prepare periodic CLM reports, dashboards, and briefs for project teams, donors, and stakeholders.

? Support learning sessions and reflection meetings with communities and project teams.

? Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned from CLM activities.

5. Feedback and Accountability Mechanisms

? Establish and manage community feedback and grievance redress mechanisms.

? Ensure feedback is documented, tracked, and responded to by relevant stakeholders.

? Facilitate dialogue between communities, service providers, and local authorities.

6. Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

? Work closely with project staff, local government authorities, CSOs, and community structures.

? Participate in project planning, review meetings, and stakeholder forums.

? Advocate for community voices in project decision-making and policy discussions.

      Education

? Bachelor?s Degree or HND in Social Sciences or other related disciplines.

? 2 years of Previous work experience in Global Fund HIV/TB/Malaria or PEPFAR grant

? 3 years of work experience in a NGO/CBO implementing HIV/TB/Malaria Interventions.

? 2 years of Working knowledge of Care & Support in HIV interventions in Nigeria working with PLHIV, PPW, AGYW/AYP & KP

? proficiency in in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

? Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, including understanding the local language of the people. Attentive to details, highly organized, and self-motivated.
